Permanent access to care (PASS)

Permanent access to care (PASS): Rapid and free access to medical care for people in difficulty at the Nîmes University Hospital.

The Nîmes University Hospital's Permanent Access to Healthcare (PASS) service allows anyone in a precarious situation or experiencing difficulties accessing healthcare to benefit from immediate and free medical care.

This service is intended for patients without social security coverage or experiencing administrative difficulties, regardless of their age. It responds to medical emergencies and facilitates access to healthcare for those excluded from it, while directing them to appropriate facilities for medical follow-up.

If you need care but don't have social security coverage, the PASS is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Medical consultations by appointment only.

The PASS missions?

The Permanent Access to Healthcare Service (PAHS) is a service dedicated to people who do not have access to healthcare, particularly due to a lack of social security coverage.

Anyone covered by the PASS (Health Insurance System) benefits from social support to establish their health insurance rights, tailored to their individual situation.

While awaiting the establishment of social security rights, patients in need can receive nursing and medical care when this care is deemed urgent. This care can be deferred when medical conditions permit.

Please note: the PASS (Health Insurance System) does not replace the emergency department, and we can refer patients if necessary. In this case, we liaise with the emergency department.

The support offered?

From Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding public holidays, the PASS offers:

  • Nursing consultations
  • Social consultations
  • Finally, the PASS offers primary medical consultations. These consultations are scheduled after a nursing assessment.

It also provides access to:

  • Dispensing medications prescribed by a third party or by the PASS
  • A precarious changing room

Where to find it?

  • The PASS welcomes you to the on-call medical center, located near the entrance to the Emergency Department parking lot.

How to apply for the PASS?
